the post office is holding my mail hostage until i go in there and physically pick it up because i didn't get it out of my mail box tues of last week. the guy i talked to said they refuse to re-deliver it, and they have been holding everything. i have gone on vacation for a week and it has all been there when i got back...has this ever happened to you??

Yep, in fact the mailman told me he was not going to deliver it and to get my body down there and pick it up because they have a lack of room on the floor. I was away for a week and put a stop delivery for a week when I was in New York state on my mail and when I got back I received my mail courtesy call. They said they did not remember getting any message. I told them next time I will buy a stamping machine and post it on their table.

It has happened twice...once because I went out of town and the neighbor kid forgot where my mail key was...the last time I put a notice for them to hold it and they lost it and started sending everything back "returned to sender, undeliverable"....
When I complained, they said "oh well...."
Many other times they just keep jammin' stuff in until nobody can get it out on either end...

Wow, no! I've been away two weeks and never have they kept it against my will. I would still show up in person and ask the manager personnally what's up with that. Have you tried calling again and speaking to someone else? Maybe that first person was being a jerk.

No! But I do know it happens If I'm gonna be away? I have a Family member come by and take it away. So passers-by, don't realize that I'm gone.
