if you have a remote to turn lights on and off, I suspect there is a short in your remote, try getting it fixed or tossing it and buying a new one.

It's not ghosts. Three possibilities.

1. If someone else is in the house, then THEY are probably turning the lights out. Most ghost stories turn out to simply be people.

2. If you sleep very heavily, you may wake up in the night (or possibly sleepwalk) and turn the lights on to go to the bathroom or whatever, and you may not remember the next morning if you are a heavy sleeper.

3. There could be some sort of short in your wiring. You will want to get that checked.

Well before we jump to say it's an entity, let's see the logical possibilities>? Maybe YOU have a high level of electro magnetic energy which can trigger the light, especially equipment that has a remote, it's happened to me with the TV.
or a button is so used that it stays partially pressed down at night maybe when you turn it off , and then turns itself back on.
If these are not the cases than maybe it is a ghost, they are made up of energy too and can manipulate it, even though it takes alot for this to happen, so it may be someone trying to get your attention, you can either speak to it and say you are willing to pay attention, and maybe receive a message or if this is too scary you can simply be firm and say i do not like this it's scaring me don't do it again and go away you are not welcome here! Close it off with a prayer.
Happy haunting..LOL

It might have something to do with faulty wiring or a circuit board that's been used over time - if you have a remote controlled light system.

If lights turn on during the night it might have something to do with the circuit board expanding and contracting due to heat / cold periods of the day.

It may very well be an interference of something around your house, like the neighbor's new remote controlled garage door.

There's no need to blame ghosts just yet :)

Think rational, you really should investigate first instead of drawing conclusion to one theory. This happened in the house I am living, where the light bulb goes in was corroded and it sure felt like a ghost it too. Clean out where your light bulb goes except my light would not back on for a while.

Do some checking with company that may have done the installation on the light system. Give them a call and address what is happening.

My cousin use to get pranks calls all the time, I kept on telling her it was probably someone trying to see if you were home and they were coming to rob you. She kept on telling me it was her secret admirer on what she choose to believe. Sure enough a few months when she was gone her house had a b & e and all her electronics were stolen.

It is most likely an electrical problem. When you flip a light switch, it opens the circuit, causing the light to turn off. Your circuit is closing somehow. Does it do this during the day sometimes too? If it does, you might want to get an electrician to look at it.

spirits often use lights as a form of communicating the easiest way you can get the message is write down the short flashes and then the lingering ones which equate to morse code. look up morse code on the net it will give you all the numbers and letters you need so that you will be able to construct a sentence and then work out what the message for you is.The short are dots and the longer are dashes.

Let me tell you a little story. When I was 8 My father died. A few months after strange things would happen around the house, like lights coming on and doors closing. One night my mother were on the couch watching TV and the light in my room came on, and mow sent me to turn it off, so I did and went back to the couch. Mom looked and said I thought you turned off that light, so I went back and turned it off again, and on my way back I had to pass my dads room, and just as I passed his room I tripped and fell through the doorway to the living room about to my knees, and I couldn't get up. So I started yelling to my mom and by the time she got to me I had slid back or was pulled back to the point where just my head was still in the living room, and my mom helped me up. My feet were pointed toward my dads room and the way I was headed they shouldn't have. other things happened too, but that really made me believe. So it possible you have a ghost. But that's ok. They wont hurt you. They just want to be seen. Tell your friends, they will freak.

I believe in spirits. Have u lived in the house all your life. if not someone could be checking to see who is there. I really cannot explain it all. But in 1974 i moved to alabama w my sister and she lived with her aunt and the aunts husband was burried on the property and my ist night there I awoke and saw afigure of a man then he left. I told my sisters aunt about it the next day and she told me that since I was new in the house he was just checking me out. he felt and new that i was a safe person and never returned again.

No, there is no such thing as ghosts. It has something to do with the remote or the power.
