To be honest, the education system here in the US is not that great when compared to those of other countries. Personally at my old high school, we were not allowed to be taught grammar. Also, people feel that they do not have to be so formal when they are on the Internet simply because it is not a professional setting. Plus, we're lazy ; )

This question has been asked several times.
People think that they actually have it right
or
they are just plain lazy to check it.
Some of the questions and answer that I see, make me have to read it twice maybe three times to figure out what the f*^$ they are saying.

i think our education system is around 24th in the world now -- that's behind most of europe, japan, korea, canada, new zealand, i think australia too. we are illiterate and proud of it apparently. we still have some dropping to do before we can get to that 3rd world status that the wealthy in this country so desperately want to achieve.
