He's having knee problems apparently, but... He's not doing very much otherwise. What do I do with him?

If I try to trade him, who should I go after? Who is a possibility?

Dye recently got dropped in my league. I'm not getting him off waivers, but I may pick him up if he clears.

Don't drop him. Keep him as a project or trade him. I've got four sucky players on my team right now. If the only one you've got is Dye, then you're in great shape.

As far as a trade you'll probably get somebody decent, but they will probably have some flaws too. Either another star who's slumping, or a fomer nobody that's doing well. I usually don't like trading unless it's to fill a need on my team. If you just try to trade your slumping slugger for somebody else's slumping slugger, you might as well just keep who you have, unless you think you know something the other team doesn't.

Regarding the apparent knee problems you speak of, I can't comment.

On his numbers however, I can. Dye right now is the classic buy-low candidate; wait out this slump.

His career linedrive ratio is around 20%, right now it's significantly lower, sitting at 14.5%. Also, Dye's famous for keeping up high BABIP numbers, and this year he's at the bottom of the league. If that trend reverts back even to where he's at the league average, look for hm to improve his batting average by at least 50 points.

Couple that with some more liners mixed in and he should be back to last year's MVP form in no time. He's always been a second half guy anyway.

I have him in my league and I've been struggling with whether to stick with him, bench him, or get less than his true value in a trade. Right now I think he's too much of a liability to start consistently. I've been slotting in Cuddyer for him when I can and it's helped but there is not much else you can do right now. I think he will come back strong so I'm keeping him and waiting for him to start hitting again.

I know he is my favorite player on the team too.

He and the rest of the team are in the middle of a huge slump. with Thome being out for half of the season so far and Konerko not doing great Dye is seeing less favorable pitching.

See if you can trade him. He's too good to drop, but he's not performing very well.

He's decent but not that good of a player. Last year a little fluke for him and no way will it be duplicated
