True LOVE is actually beyond the chemical reactions of love and hate. All human emotions are a combination of 1] Thought pattern 2] breath pattern and 3] mixture of chemicals in the body causing sensation. LOVE is what we are- not the false identification of sensations in the body. LOVE is instantly devalued as soon as it is mistaken for a feeling which is only the opposite of the sensation of hate. LOVE is all that exists and IT has NO opposite. So human love actually gives rise to hate, as one cannot exist without the other. How could you know what love is unless you know hate and vice-versa.

If love were *essentially* chemical reactions, I would say that that would definitely devalue it, because love is a value response to another person, not merely some chemical reaction confined to your own body.

In answer to your question, knowing that love is a mere chemical reaction can, and may devalue it as an emotion, until you fall in love and wish to dive into a vat of those chemicals.

Only if you devalue consciousness itself on the same grounds. If you look at emotions, thought, and action as programmed, chemical and neural reactions to stimuli, then sure, we're just meat machines and nothing we do (including love) means a damn thing.
Fortunately for me, I reject such behaviorist thinking in favor of viewing consciousness as a singular phenomena which lifts us above the level of mere puppets and brings meaning to our actions and our lives.

I probably can be explained through chemical reactions. I don't think the mechanism of how it works makes any difference.

Love will still be precious and valuable beyond chemical reasoning. The plain fact that feel-good chemicals explode in some part of our mega-brain to generate elevating plateaus is just so: plain.
Actual magic lies in the indescribable emotions. In the instant stimulus-response realm that transcends explanation.

May be, but we may not be capable of devaluing it, because we don't have the capability to do it. Love is really a feeling, so we may not be able to devalue.

No. We would still seek it for its intrinsic value. Its cause or rationale will make it easier to trigger the chain reaction in all and we will have love bombs instead of A-bombs..........
