I read this somewhere and sometimes and I just don't get it. Like, what's up with that? I'm a 19 year old boy and I have been a babysitter since I was 13. Like, when there that age, don't they should be babysitting instead of being babysat?
Also, is that the age you/ or your parents gave you babysitting rights at age 13?

I had a babysitter until I was about 14, i think but 13/14 is average.

This 19 year old boy is the one doing the babysitting, but if it wasn't - 19 is ridiculous, you're an adult who can drive, drink, get married, have sex (well all of those in the uk anyway - i know it's different in different places) so that really is stupid. People live on their own when they're 19!

It really depends on the person. I started babysitting when I was 11 because I was very mature. I don't think though, that a 19 year old boy would need a babysitter.

it sounds like the boy is the babysitter, not the one being babysat. I babysitted my younger brother when I was younger than 13, but I do think I got my real first babysitting job at that age.

I was babysitting at 12. That's craziness! maybe the kid has problems and is unable to care for himself? But if thats not the case than maybe he simply cant be trusted, which is still wierd because he's legally an adult. The kid staying there being babysat must be challenged, otherwise he'd get right up and walk out. Wouldn't that make him some sort of hostage?

My cousin needed a baby sitter when he was 19. Reason being, her couldn't be trusted. What if the 19 year old had bad habits or a mental disorder? You wouldn't want to think about things like that, but you know, sometimes age doesn't matter to parents. As long as they are acting up, they may feel that he/she is not able to make good choices.

NO NO NO! If a 35 year old is immature I supose he needs a babysitter as well?! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! If you read this on the internet it would be interesting to see the link to the website posted here. at age 19 your on your own and your responsible for your own actions responsible or now YOU CAN LEGALLY LEAVE your parents home stay at a hotel, move into your own house. NOONE Controls you.

I have heard of stranger things but unless there is something physically or mentally wrong with this 19 year old I can't think of a reason why he needs a babysitter.

Someone who is mentally or physically challenged might need a babysitter at age 19. That's all I can think of.

boys who are getting babysat at 19 are being babysat because their parents are far too over protective... for who knows what reason (maybe they are crazy?) ... i once saw a mother drag her 16 year old boy into the girls bathroom like he was a 3 year old she was scared of leaving alone... some parents may have their kids babysat because they don't know how else to protect them

by the age 12 ca state says that you are now old enough to stay by yourself. most daycares don't take kids that are 12 and over. I as a parent say it depends on the kid. some kids still need someone to watch them at higher ages. Also it depends on if the child has physic or mental problems. sorry if I worded that wrong.
