Yes i believe that musical videos, buy many other products on the media, have become so sexual and violent, and they are for sure an important influence to the youth.
Both boys and girls, have become the receivers of such an influence that you can easily find in the way they look, they way they act, and sometimes de way they talk about those issues.
It's a natural think, even for adult people, that showing almost naked bodies, very sensual dances, and even showing couples almost having sex in the screen, makes you have feelings, so you are so much predisposed to have sexual experiences so much younger than before.

Do you think music video has an effect on our youth?
Yes, these are popular people. Youth and everyone imitates popular people. It also affects youth because youth are always trying to growup to fast. They do what they see grown people do.

Who is affected more ... females or males?
I believe it is equal. Males and females identify with the attitudes and behaviors of music stars.

Are our youth becoming more aggressive and sexual because of the violance and sex shown in music videos.
Yes, this is making these activities seem normal and expected. The idol's on TV makes youth want to be like them.

1. Yes, whether they are inspired by the sound of the music, or the fashion style.

2. Equally afftected

3. Musicans are proformers, who are in the lime light. Some people see them as idols while others are just simply entertained. The image of good muscians has inspired fashion and starts new trends of music. How these muscians act on their music videos do affect out youth somehow. They are either inspired to make music like that, dress like that and/or act like that.

Like with anything, children are influenced by one thing or another. If a parent smokes or drinks the child is more likely to so. Same thing with music. It is the parents resposiblity to make the child aware, that it is NOT real life. They are acting, proforming, intertaining.

If the music a 10 year old is listening too is rated for the 18 age group, then the parent needs to not let the child listen to it.

Music, just like a movie needs to be monitored and rated for children. You canot blame music videos for the behavior of anyone, it is up to the parents to explane why they act that way and that is not how people act in the real world. If that were the case then, we wouldn't need music or tv to entertain us.

i remember listening to NWA and easy e when i was a kid so its always been around however there was only a few of us at school that listened to it and the rest of the kids were listening to 80/90s top 40 mainly.

If my parents or my friends parents heard it we would get in trouble and they would take the tape off us (yes back then we had tapes) these days the music is main stream and what we would get in trouble for listening to has today become acceptable for the general public.

I think that it does have an effect on the youth w/out discriminating between fe/males just different ways of emulation.

when it becomes mainstream you get the pack mentality that its acceptable, and you become the minority if you think its vulgar and anti social.

and whatever the majority is becomes the norm

Yes, everything we take in affects us in some way.

I don't think "MORE" is the question as to related to gender; I'd say it affects female "more" in certain ways (reinforcing impractical romantic ideals, for instance) and males "more" in others (mimicking aggressive behavior)

As to whether music videos are "the" contributing factor in increasing aggressive and sexual behavior, I'd say not entirely, but it certainly contributes. How would one do a "controlled" test? At best, you'd have to use statistics. So...of the aggressive and sexually active, how much time do they spend in front of the tube watching videos?

How much time do those who aren't aggressive and sexually active spend watching videos?

How aggressive and sexually active are youth who do not watch them at all?

Interesting question. I live among an Old Order Amish community, so I see an entirely different culture of young people. I don't think the lack of music videos is the greatest influencing factor, rather their belief system and community values.

However, in a culture without an agreed set of values, outside influences (like videos) will probably have more influence.

Yes I do believe music videos have affect on youth as people tends to idolize their favorite artist. How it affects a person may vary, it could be anything from a person's sense of fashion to a person's social life style.

Generally both female and male have equal tendency to be affected by music video.

As far as being more aggressive and changes in sexual behavior, music video may plays a part (depending on the kind of music video, not all kinds have the same effect) in this but it isn't the only factor. Other form of media such as television shows and movies have their own effect on this too.

ps: generally I think we could only say that yes they do have effects on today's youth, but the kind of effect is really subjective, as it varies depending on certain factor such as the nature of the music video, and how the viewers interprets the video itself.

Yes I do believe the videos have an effect on today's youth.
I believe the males are affected more than the females.
Because of the way women are portrayed in the videos I think that youth are definitely more aggressive and sexual. I mean the way the women hardly have any clothes would drive any guy wild if he didn't have Jesus in his life.

I think media in general plays a pretty big part in the way the youth act. Females and males alike try to imitate what they see on tv becuase its "cool". I mean if a child/pre teen/teenager sees a woman on tv in a tiny skirt & barely covering shirt, the girls will say "I wanna be just like her" so they will begin dressing more ilke her, and the boys will say "If a girl dont look like that then they aren't cool."

Either way media plays a big role in youths lives. You can't shelter your children from copying other children who are doing it but you can instill good values in them.

sure they impression the young infants generally rap movies women because of fact they think of they could seem and dance like the girls to get interest from adult males actually no because of fact young ones nonetheless have the skill to make their very own judgements regaurdless of what they see. They nonetheless % their very own movements and ppl jus prefer to blame crime and violence on rap... even regardless of the undeniable fact that that's the international its self it turns into further and extra violent daily and there are no longer adequate regulation enforcers to do lots approximately it and its all approximately how young ones are raised... many mothers and dads have undesirable parenting skills and extra and extra infants are abused, and/or have drug addict mothers and dads. it is while they pass to the music and music movies to narrate so they dont experience so by myself in the international. music is in basic terms an basic get away and an basic thank you to set unfastened thoughts yet nonetheless in the top young ones % their very own movements and could no longer reproduction the movements from music movies without the nicely suited connections to different ppl like those in the video which they could no longer have connections with in the fist place if mothers and dads did their pastime as mothers and dads
