Has anyone heard why the St Louis area did not experience the emergence of the 17-year cicadas this year?

Brood XIII - the northern Illinois brood - is supposed to emerge this year in northern Illinois, Iowa and parts of Indiana. Is St. Louis also involved? The cicadas should be out by now.

Brood X, the largest brood, came out in 2004.
