I am married and I would like to donate the one I am having if anybody wants a second wife. I am sure he will be ready to donate both his wifes within about 6 months of living with her.

I am against it, but not for religious reasons. I have seen interview after interview with wives in polygamist households. Some were very supportive and some were not. However, almost every one of them spoke of a real feeling of hurt when a new wife was intoduced into the household. Therefore I am against it.

In some religions and cultures it is considered acceptable as long as the man has the means to provide for each of his wives equally.Personally I think it is wrong on many levels. Why cant people be satisfied with one?Marriage is two souls coming together as one...ever hear of twos a compant threes a crowd? obviously this is just my opinion.

I think its great for those who can handle it. I'm 23 and never been in a serious relationship..I just cant handle it...actually its the men that cant handle me..they think that just b/c I'm not on their nuts 24/7 that i'm cheating or not into them...

There are many ppl in the world who just cant handle being with one person, and its not sexual, its really is like having a child that you have to check up on...it would drive me insane. I wouldnt mind shaing, b/c I need a lot of me time, it would be selfish on my part to limit a person to just me when I dont even need him all that much. as long as there is honesty and commitment on all parts then it ok..

At the same time? Or one after the other, because of death or divorce? Your question is unclear.
In my opinion, the whole point of marriage is to commit yourself to one other person --therefore, polygamy (being married to more than one person at a time) is a self-contradiction.
I see nothing wrong with second marriages after one spouse passes away, or after a divorce.

I know people in polyamorous relationships. Personally I do not understand them. I am a monogamous kind of guy. I do allow them their freedom and do not judge them. As long as we are talking legal age of consent, I do not see a problem with it.

And yes, I think it goes both ways. A man could have more than one wife and a woman could have more than one husband. Also multiple men in a gay relationship or multiple women in a lesbian relationship.

In a country that preaches freedom of religion, I have never understood our persecution of the mormons for following their religious belief of having multiple wives.

Its a crazy world we live it...

Yes, you are free to practice your religion as long as it does not contradict mine o.O *shrugs*

Unless "she" also has the right to marry another husband and bring him within the family(with the agreement of all) I don't think it is right.
Unless the rights of everyone in the "group" are the same I think it's a monumentally bad idea.

i think it is morally wrong if you are still married to a different wife and in this day and age you cannot do it in the united states unless you are divoriced.why would you want to marry more than one wife if thats the one you fell in love with?

In my opinion marrying more than one person at a time is nothing more than a selfish fantasy. A person entering a marriage deserves the complete commitment of the other person. If you cannot commit yourself completely to one person then you shouldn't bother getting married.
