They're at home (that helps), the pitches suit our bowlers and the opposition is not the best, and we let them get close to a record run chase today. Let's see how we go against India.

It's the opposition at the moment that's making England look good. Really sad seeing the Windies like this. In the past when they had great teams it was some of the best cricket you could you hope to see. I'm and England supporter but would love to see the WI come fighting back in the future, with another great team

Because theirs a huge difference between test and one day cricket. England are one of the best test sides in the world and they stink at one day.

As for the ashes. they were playing Australia, undisputably the best in the world in either form. They're so far ahead of everyone else in the world; they have been for a long time and i fear they will be for a long time to come. each time a few greats retire new ones seem to step up and take over seamlessly.

It's getting very annoying.

See in the Ashes they had to face the mighty Australians & In the World Cup they had to face many other teams which were better than them. This time they have got a lose opponent which has been playing bad since Lara has left so they are winning it.

Well I think yes it is weak opposition right now, but i think on the positive side the leadeship is also making a difference. Any teams needs a leader and with Vaughan and Flintoff both out and no dynamic coach england was looking for a leader and vaughan's coming back with a bang has helped a lot. I think India series would be good if freddie is back.
dont write england off, rememeber you have PC, KP & MP and with Freedie back it could suddenly become a good team atleast at home

While the performance of England Team in the ODI has not been satisfactorily in the recent past, they have been faring reasonably well in Test Matches except in the Ashes series.

Look at the rankings in the one day game we are near the bottom in the test arena we are ranked second , Australia are by far the best although with some of their best bowlers retiring they may be a bit closer to the rest now.

West Indies are even worse than the English team, that's why they are beating them.
