Yah! ligting causes shaddows, which change the shape and appearance of your face. Also, natural light, flouressent, white, and yellow lights are ll different colors. This gives your skin a different tint. white and flouressent lights also bring out flaws ( no idea why), so that may be your problem.
GO NATURAL LIGHTING!!! : ) SJ

DEFINITELY!! I can tell for sure when I go in a brightly lit dressing room and look horrible, but once i step out I look fine. Dimmer light just has a better effect, it shadows over flaws, while bright light is just like HELLO, when did i become so ugly? lol!

yes it does. the shadows on your faces can shape it and change the way it really looks. It may also affect the color of your skin, perhaps making it glow more.
also in the night, your pupils are larger because it is darker, and people find it attractive when other people's pupils are large. We may not realize it though

proper lighting can help accentuate features and soften your look over all while the wrong lighting (sun position & shade) can totally throw it off
