What do you think of him and will he do good?

He's an effective pitcher coming out of the bullpen against left-handed batters, but I wouldn't expect much from him this season. He's 36 years old, coming off Tommy John surgery, and will be pitching in a hitter-friendly park.

It's sad that he'll likely be given the closer's role in Cincinnati when healthy. It just shows how thin their pitching staff is, especially that overworked bullpen.

He'll eventually get a chance to be the Cinci closer. But, it takes about 1 1/2 years to come back completely from TJ surgery for a young player. Guardado is 39. He could do OK, but pitching in a great hitters park, it's more probable that he'll have an ERA over 5, but the Reds don't have much better options.

He is currently on the 60 day disabled list with the Cincinnati Reds trying to recover from elbw surgery. He has had a 14 year major league career in which he has been used primarily out of the bullpen. Has spent the majority of his career with the Twins, but also has been with the Seattle Mariners and now is in his second stint with the Reds. He has a career record of 41-55 with 193 saves. I wouldn't expect much out of him this year but hopefully he will rebound from his injury and continue his productive career.
