Make sure o have actually plugged them into the correct socket. Moving computers should not in itself screw up spekers. Also, when a speaker fails, you will tpically get one of 2 effects. 1) The sound of silence. 2) Sounding like the speaker is playing through a Kazoo (or tissue paper over a comb).

Maybe the jack plug isn't pushed in firmly enough. Sometimes the rubber casing around the plug gets in the way, stopping the plug from going into the socket far enough, try trimming it back with a Stanley knife.

It sounds like a grounding problem, so maybe inside the socket (or speaker) the screening cable is coming into contact with either the left or right channel connections. If you can, peel back the cover (Or unscrew it), if you cannot do that and you've tried every other method, buy a 3.5mm jack plug, cut the one off the speakers and re-solder the new plug onto the lead. Could be that the socket isn't soldered onto the motherboard/soundcard correctly (maybe dry joint?) just passing an iron over the connections will re-flood the solder over the connections.

Make sure that the jack plugs are pushed fully home in their sockets. If they are powered speakers there may be a faulty smoothing capacitor, but a partly inserted jack is the most likely.

It sound as though the sound point on your laptop is low and to compensate somebody has grew to become up the quantity on the audio equipment to finished. so which you get a hissing noise (white noise) and each time the hard force does some thing the interference it reasons makes a sound. verify the quantity point in the administration panel/ sounds. If the quantity is low turn it up at an identical time as turning the quantity turn on the relatively audio equipment down till sound are at a snug point. If that may not the subject then curiously like RF bleed over from Cb radio, taxi radio or according to hazard somewhat one show screen. previous television`s was once at risk of this besides and regrettably there isn't plenty you're able to do yet touch the human beings utilising the transmitting kit and ask them to the two get it checked or as in somewhat one show screen try it in a different plug socket or on the substitute channel they arrive geared up with.

the problem might be that they are fixen to go out on you and that you are going to have to buy a new set of speakers . or you can try and unplugging them again and replugging them in and seeing if the hummming goes away
