It's probably gone for good unless you were saving backups. Check your Recycle Bin settings to make certain that you do not have the automatic delete running. You can do this by right clicking on the Recycle Bin and selecting Properties. There is a box you can untick for the automatic deletion of items. If you make any changes click Apply and then click OK. A reboot may be required for the settings to stick. That way if anything is accidentally deleted in the future, you should be able to recover it.

If the document is no longer in the recycle bin then there is no easy way to recover it. There is software that can recovered a deleted file, but it has to be done immediately after the file has been deleted - before Windows has a change to reuse the hard drive space for another file. Often the act of installing an "undelete" program will overwrite the file you were hoping to recover with the undelete program.
You can try http://download.com and search for a free "undelete" or "file recovery" program (they have several). But it may to be too late the recover this Word file. However, you will have the program installed and ready for use next time....

Usually it will be in recycled bin, until you empty it. if it is not there, then maybe it is properly deleted.
