Not until the fall season. Usually around the time when the days have a little bit of a chill.

Wearing white can be very striking and you should not be afraid of it. There are some precautions you should take, though. First, make sure you are able to eat and drink without spillig things all over yourself. If you can not, maybe white is not the color for you. Just be careful. If you are wearing leather, most things will be easily cleaned. Make sure you treat the leather and take care of it. Wipe off any spills immediately. If you are wearing suede, make sure you are not going out when it is rainy or snowy where the water can ruin the outfit. If you think there is a chance, make sure to bring an extra set of shoes and a rain coat to protect your outer clothing from damage. If you have a stain, take it to a professional as soon as possible. Most stains can be removed but the best solution is to try to prevent them from occurring in the first place.

I wear my long skirts and boots as early as August because I live in Michigan and our weather goes from 90 to 40 on any given day. The material is very important because of the variation of temperature from day to day so, I like to wear a rayon/polyester blend or a light weight cotton blend. I have worn these types of suits to interviews, graduations, dinner, and work.

I live in CA now and the biggest thing that I miss from living in VA and NC is the change of seasons! I adore fall and October is my favorite month of the year. I finally got married for the 1st and last time in CA on Oct. 9, 2005 and took my born and bred Californian husband on a wonderful 10 day honeymoon touring fall in New England, starting in Boston and making our way through Vermont, N.H., and to Bar Harbour, Maine then back down to Salem, MA and left from Boston back to CA. It had been 5 yrs since I had gotten to wear all of the fabulous fall clothes and boy, did I have fun shopping for my honeymoon wardrobe.
Back when I lived on the east coast, as soon as Labor Day was over, and the weather started to change with the air getting crisp in the day and nights were chilly, I put away the summer clothes away and brought out the leather and suede skirts, boots, and jackets. I love sweater weather and I even love snow! Cashmere sweaters or cashmere anything , is just awesome. I wear cashmere sweaters in San Francisco when I have to go up there ,even in the summer. Where I live gets very hot in the summer and so we go to the city or down to Monterey, where I used to live, to cool down on the weekends, or to Santa Cruz to the boardwalk, but I love to go to Lake Tahoe as soon as the first snow and then I can pull out some cold weather clothes, but it's mostly ski clothes and Tahoe gets so crowded with the ski crowd. I love my husband but as soon as his job allows us to transfer, we are moving out of CA and going to where the weather changes. I just miss the east coast so badly. I love clothes and I get tired of wearing the same season all year round. I love my fall and winter clothes. So, if I lived on the east coast, I start putting the warm weather clothes away around Labor Day, but do keep some warm weather clothes for the transition period from summer to fall.

Since we have air conditioning, I do not oppose long skirts at any time; however, since others prefer to see seasonal clothing, I would bring them out in September.
