what are the risks associated with being a male escort?

I am thinking of becoming a male escort.
I dont want to risk my health in any way, can someone give me some tips or suggestions.

1) AIDS
2) STDs
3) Getting emotionally involved.
4) Being accused of abuse and having to defend yourself with a lawyer.
5) Having a stalker.
6) Losing a love of your life in the future when she finds out you have been an escort.
7) Worrying the rest of your life that a future employer will find out.
8) Losing friends and/or relatives over this job choice.

I think the folks here are missing the point of being an "escort". Of course, the asker may also be missing the point.

An escort has no risk of STD's or other infections. An escort is a companion, not a temporary lover, that is a gigolo. An escort is either a man to accompany a woman to a function where she is "expected" have a guest or to an event where she would feel safer with someone. Sex is not involved. Normally that is actually specified in the agreement you sign. I know this because it is a business I researched in my younger days.

I will admit the boyfriends/husbands/ex's are in fact a risk. So is the chance that the client will assume the "no sex" clause is just a legal CYA. As well as the misperceptions demonstrated here.

Remember to play safe and don't let anyone talk you into doing something unsafe - they're paying, so they'll expect you to do what they want, but don't take risks with your health just because of pressure from a client. Make sure the agency isn't ripping you off (why do you need an agency? You could just post your own ads online or in your local paper). From what I've heard, most agencies for male escorts are more like scams than businesses. Just get a phone number that you ONLY use for your business, and don't use your real name! So, watch yourself from a health perspective and also from a financial perspective. Don't let anyone take advantage of you!

You would be very foolish to get into that lifestyle. Besides death from disease or jealous husband/boyfriend, you will someday be sitting in a bar at 2 am, wondering why life is so unfufilling and empty. The kind of people you will be interacting with will be very shallow and not give a rip about you. Life is very short. Spend it with someone you love.

i did it a number of years ago; when i was short of money .if you do it .most of the dates you go on. it will be the first time for the women .hubby out somewhere; or partner off somewhere as well .when you pick the date up;she will tell you what she needs you to do ;and say.or the agency will .the trick i learned; was .what ever the women's age .think of them have no cloth.s on.during the date .so you will always have smile on your face .even if shes a minger .

There is nothing that anyone can say in here that can guarantee your health and safety.

Besides the potential for STD's and other viral, bacterial infections, you also have the rare surprise of the jealous boyfriend/husband/ex's.

Also you run the risk of going to jail.
I would re-think this line of work...there are tons of other jobs out there that are risk free.
