It ended in true David Chase style, he has always done things the way you least expect. At first I was like "What the F**K! Then I thought about how genius it was. The last like five minutes in the diner scene, with the shady characters lingering around, one walks in with AJ, Meadow with parking troubles in the street, The guy that goes in the bathroom, the guy with the hat in the corner booth. It was pure suspense, I almost couldn't stand it. That's what it must be like for Tony 24/7. Then LIGHTS OUT, it could be over like that, like with Phil Leotardo saying good bye to the Grand kids then BAM, its over. And it leaves us all guessing! Very cool in a tortuous sort of way! I thought My TV went bad and was checking the power cord. VERY COOL

The show was great - look, everyone will continue to talk and speculate about what actually happened at the end...
A show that makes people think and talk about long after it is over marks a great episode. It's only been a day - I guess we'll find out in days or weeks to come if people will still be talking about it and wondering: What actually happened?
I think the ending was much more appropriate than giving an absolute conclusion. Wouldn't you have been disappointed even more if Tony had gotten whacked?

I was really disappointed. I thought they would go all out. A part of me thought they may do a "Bob Newhart" and have Tony either wake up like it was all a dream and he isn't a gangster at all or he would wake up and he was really a gangster but everything that happened would have been a dream and we could see everyone that died again like nothing happened.
My husband thought that Chris' fiance that they killed would have somehow survived and come back for revenge.
The show would have been ok if it was just a season finale but not the series finale!!!

The episode was bit boring and the ending was NOT an ending and leaves speculation whether or not Tony lived, died, was arrested by the Feds, etc. All that tension building up to nothing. That was as bad as foreplay without an orgasm.

It wasn't disappointing, I thought it was great. The show could only go two ways, either he was gonna end up dead, or he was gonna end up on top. Because a vast majority of it's fans expected Tony to end up dead, Chase chose to leave the show with him on TOP!! Which is PERFECT!! I thought the end was genius, and lots of ppl just don't understand that, more than likely, that type of "black out" ending spells MOVIE!!

After the show ended I felt I was about to get whacked!!
I thought I heard there were about 5 alternate endings, you might have to wait until the DVD's come out and they might have something different. We'll see.

I watched this show for 10 years and I feel cheated after this final episode. I think David Chase is sitting home today laughing at us fools for the joke he played on us. I will not watch another one of his shoes.

I thought something was wrong with my cable box. I watched it on demand just a little bit ago and was like wth? I just' don't know what to think - it could have any ending. I don't know if I like it when a show ends leaving it to my imagination - it isn't why I watch tv.

Very brilliant!!!
I wouldn't have guest this type of ending. I had to switch channels to make sure my directv didn't go out...lol.
Lots of people had their theory that Tony will die or something like that. But with this ending it gives everyone their own ending.
Sigh....the Sopranos will be greatly missed.
