That's normal. There is no set length, it depends on the individual and how well they absorb information etc. Also it depends on your age, the older you are the longer it is likely to take as your does not absorb new information as quickly.

usually around 4-6 months you can speed up this time by driving as much as possible not with the instructor for example in a parents car under their supervision.
the national average for lessons is somewhere around 40 hours lessons but people that fail many times push that up quite a lot. It does depend on the person mostly though it all depends how long it takes to settle into driving.

There are two stages in learning how to drive. One is to initially learn how to drive through driving lessons. That should take about 4 to 6 weeks. The other is learning and gaining experience while you are actually driving your own car. The latter is an ongoing process and never ends.
Its OK to be nervous after 2 weeks of driving lessons. Just be patient, it would come.

I'm 53 & have never been behind the wheel of a car. I've never even ridden a bike. I'm facing my 1st driving lesson next month.
By ffordcash's figures, even squeezing 2 lessons into a week when I can, it'll take me eighteen months or more to learn.
And cost me nearly two thousand quid.
That's assuming I do ok...
It's like they're all telling you, Maggie: ease up on yourself. You've only just begun.
P.S. You couldn't give me a lift to my driving test, could you? It's in 2009. Or 2010, or 2011...

If you have no practice inbetween, it may take a while. Look it is like learning aliflong skill, and needs patience. Somepeople take months or years, otherw pick it up very quickly. you are an individual, so remember that - sit back, learn to relax, and take each new part of the skill taught as a challenge, there should be no pressure...remember this skill, if not taught properly could kill you and other people...so time is the key.

I've been learning since the end of January and have a driving test booked on Wednesday, it's my second one because I failed the first. It sounds like your doing fine after 2 weeks. I don't think I'm a natural driver, but can't wait to pass my test. It'll take as long as it takes, but it is defiantly worth it!!!

About an hour, unless its a 2 hour lesson.
The DSA guide for the average number of driving lessons required by someone to prepare for the practical driving test is one and half hours per year of age. This can vary according to the individual but may serve as a rough guide.

It depends on how long you drive each day, and of course how many days a week. Try to relax, you will get the hang of it
You are probably more nervous just because you are a beginner, You will do fine.. Just keep practicing.. Like they say practice makes perfect !! After about 30 days you will feel like a pro !!!!!!!!!! Just always drive with caution ..
good luck
