One day I heard a Red Sox fan say that he does not like the Yankees or their fans because they ONLY CARE ABOUT WINNING....Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the purpose of sports to WIN? Do they have to love each other or do the have to win a another title to add to the collection. 26-2!!! And don't say the Yankees haven't won one in seven years because it took ya'll EIGHTY SIX years!!

It is easy to say baseball is more about entertainment have having fun when you have never won Rockies fan. So they next time someone does something wrong in sports you can't criticize them because it was entertaining and they were enjoying themselves? Players get paid millions of dollars to win.

I have no idea. They are completely lacking any class and to make themselves feel better, they feel like they have to chant "Yankees suck" even when they play the Royals.

I couldnt believe my ears on my one trip to Fenway to see the ballpark, in the middle of the 5th inning, some idiot starts saying Yankees suck, and then everyone chimes in with it until nearly the 6th inning. THEY WERE PLAYING THE ROYALS!!!! What do you think they thought of the spectacle??

Making blanket statements about specific groups is a lot dumber! Yes there are some stupid Red Sox fans just like there are stupid Yankee fans but that doesn't account for everyone. I know some very intelligent Red Sox and Yankee fans who have a great time talking about the rivalry. That's what baseball should be about, not about hating!

As for the Yankees having more titles, yes you are right, and I HAD a lot of respect for the Yankees until they started buying championships! Georgey may be loved in NY but I think he was the worst thing that happened to baseball in a long time. It should be an even playing field and when one team pays as much as 10 times more for their players as another then there is no equity!

Everyone hates Bonds because they think he gained an advantage by using performance enhancing drugs, and he probably did. But the Yankees have had an unfair advantage for many years due to their team salary. This has forced other teams to increase their salaries but unfortunately not every team has that choice. Look at KC, they had some great teams back in the 70s but they can't keep their players any more because of the money being thrown around by the NYs, Red Sox, Chicagos, Phillies, Braves, Seattles, Giants, Cardinals, and LAs. Why do you think the Red Sox and White Sox have won recently? Because they smartened up and went out and spent a lot of money(although the money spent in their championship years were still less than 1/2 of what the Yankees spent that year). That doesn't guarantee a championship or make it right but since the rules aren't going to change any time soon they had no choice.

Ahhh....it's not the winning thing (because I want my team to win every year) that makes Red Sox fans hate Yankee fans...it's Yankee fans personalities. I know you don't speak for all Yankees fans but you're attitude (which is typical of Yankee fans...and trust me I know a lot of them) is the reason I hate Yankees fans. Completely stubborn, egotistical, arrogant, and most importantly...usually wrong. By the way...if you are going to make fun of the Red Sox with a title comparison the Red Sox have won six so it would be 26-6. Yeah the Red Sox don't have as many but oh well....at least the Red Sox have a chance to win this year.

Clearly, this person doesn't have a very good hold of what he is trying to say. They are referring to the fact that they believe that Baseball is about integrity, honor, and just having fun out there, and they feel like the Yankee's are hell bent on ruining that. They will continue to play the "you guys depurify the game by spending money" card, which is a pain.

Baseball isn't all about winning, it's entertainment, and its about enjoying yourself, whether watching the game or playing the game. Sure, winning is the ultimate way to "enjoy yourself", but some people get frustrated with other teams success. Just relax, and enjoy the rivalry, its one of the greatest in any sport, and its what makes baseball baseball. Go Rockies.

Holly crud. You just solved my mystery, I've been doing experiments for many years on which group of people is the dumbest. And according to your faulty logic it must be every single red sox fan. Oh wait, that doesn't make any sense, if someone likes a team it makes them dumb? You have set me back months!

Natural selection or social Darwinism.
They are Red Sox fans. Only dummies become Sux fans.

I'm surprised that you didn't have your question rejected by Yahoo Answers, for using the word "dumb" to describe Red Sox fans. Any time I use derogatory adjectives, I am censured.
The YA bunch must be New York fans as well.

At least die-hard Red Sox fans are loyal. That's more than can be said of former players who are only out for the money and change teams as often as they change their toe-plate or haircuts.

Its one of the great rivalries in Baseball, you don't need a reason not to like each other
