Well I am not American, so no. But lets see what the champions of democracy have been protecting us from:

Big bad nasty regiems who will put the needs of the wealthy few against those of the populous.

Religious persecution.

False arrest and imprisonment without trial.

Supression of Speach.

Well thats OK then isn't it. I feel a whole lot better now.

Note: The above does not apply if the powers that be classify you as belonging to a non white middle class, socially acceptable religion (No 'A Rabs' allowed and definately nobody from Waco). Anybody who looks a little Communist and is unlikely to vote Republican at the next elections. Anybody who doesn't come from a White/Middle class background (Injuns/Mexicans etc.)

In which case, the US authorities reserve the right to ignore any/all civil libities - especially that iccy bit in the Constitution about false imprisonment (Guantanimo Bay, Japanese origine US citizens during WW2, or anybody called Charley).

I also woke up this morning with a hang-over.

I woke up happy in the knowledge that I don't live in the States and therefore care not a jot whether the place is democratic (that's a matter of opinion), communist, oligarchy, monarchy or any of the other "archys".

The Cold War was an arms race stand-off between the USA and the USSR.

The Vietnam War was a screw up where the Yanks thought they were going to whip the commies and ended up killing millions of (mostly) civilians and losing 58,000 of their own troops. Many people see it as an extension of the Cold War.

I think that USA needs a revolution to be free of these kinds of leaderships and think-tanks who are leading this nation to ruins of humanity, relationships on international levels and morality.
USA government provides all the materialistic needs to its people and in this whole world any Govt. that fulfills all the basic needs of its people are considered Democratic so USA is a demcratic state but the unreasonable and devastation based strategy of USA's leadership is pushing this nation towards a dark mans land of immortality, barbarism and a long lasting feeling of shame among the whole world.
People hate Islam and Muslims for there cruel activites but they also hate USA for its anti terrorism plannings and war which are always unreasonable and is never based on any kind of geniun details provided by the USA leadership and Millatry.

I often wondered how it was that the democracies of the world weren't into socialism...helping their fellow countrymen-instead they thrive on capitalism and increasing the chasm between have's and have-nots, while the communists of the world were into ruthless dictatorships....
