Well i have known my best friend since we were in third grade
she has always been there for me and we have been through a lot together
it's a given that she's your best friend when your entire family knows her or when your mom says she has two daughters instead of one or when your dad gave her her own room at your house
i talk to her everyday even though we live 25 miles apart and go to different schools i've moved 3 times since i've met her and one time i moved over a hundred miles away but she still came and stayed with me for a month or so in the summer and we never go sick of eachother
i can remember sooo many times that she has made me laugh so hard i cried
i was laying on her dog house pretending to be snoopy (the dog house was raised about 5 feet in the air and there as a ramp and a platform in front of it) and i jumped off the roof on to the platform and fell right through it an got 5 slivers in my butt! ahhh good times
my grandpa told me when me and her were in a fight that good friends don't go away that easy and that a true friend is someone that you can sit on your front porch step with and say nothing at all and feel that it was the best conversation you've ever had

I have best friends, but VERY FEW. Friends are so hard to find these days because most of the times, people are just too busy to get to know you better or to just chat with you. Everyone is busy with work and their own lives to even strike up a conversation.
I'm sorry, I can't reveal anything about my best friends! But the saddest thing is, when you finally find your one true best friend, somehow they have to move to another country or another place. And you two get separated. Meeting again is very rare and difficult so you can only communicate with telephones, handphones or via the computer (email).
One thing I can say is, I can't explain how they made the place of being my best friend. I can't explain how happy it is to be around someone you can completely trust, someone who accepts you for who you are and someone who understands you.
But I do know what it feels like when they are gone and are no longer with you on a daily basis. It's like not being able to breathe in your own skin, it's like grasping for air, it's like trying to find a place in the busy crowd and you feel so torn apart and unable to control your emotions.
As the saying goes, 'you don't know what you've got till it's gone'. I do cherish my best friends, but the saying is completely right. People start realizing how much they actually had only when everything is taken away from them. (Look at Paris Hilton, a very recent example. Only when she's forced to stay locked up in the jail, she realizes that it's hard because her freedom to do whatever she wants whenever she wants is gone.)
So, I just want to say that my best friends are completely great the way they are. And I am comfortable with them. Of course, I would not dismiss the opportunity to get to know someone else better but at the same time, it's never easy to open up to anyone, let alone when it's someone new or someone you've just met.
But I look forward to getting to know other people for friendship and for the experience of knowing new people and their likes and dislikes. Because everyone of us is different and unique in our own way and knowing more people can broaden our horizons.

My sister is my best friend. I also have a best friend for life we grew up together and no matter how far we lived apart we always kept in touch. Started out in 2nd grade and now we are both late 30 and still best friends.

me and megan( i call her meg) have been best friends since 1st grade; we are now in 9th, she is a sweet person, who loves God and her family, she loves caring for older people, her faces she makes when she gets mad at me just make me laugh, and then the fight is over, she is the blondest brunett I've ever met...I never would want to replace her... I have two other best friends.. I couldn't live w/o any of them, I am totaly comfortable w/ Meg.. we do the most stupid and funniest stuff together...

Her name is Melaine and I met her in the 7th grade...she used to hate my guts and I used to hate hers, but somehow we became best friends the next year...we do everything together, and I mean everything! I think of her as a sister and we have so much fun together...I think I am drawn to Melanie because she is a very serious person who thinks about the consequences of everything...I on the other hand am a very entergetic go-lucky person who doesn't care that much what happens, but Melanie straightens me out and makes me actually think for once...she is a cool person, and I don't know what I would do without her ♥

We have been friends since 2nd grade and it all started off with her inviting me to her b-day party with about 5 other people but i was the only one who showed up.. I am more comfortable with her than my parents! She is like a sister to me. It really sucks though because I recently had to move 45 minutes away from her so now i barely get to see her *sobs*

Well my best friend is very special to me ,though all my friends are special to me but we two have something really very different from other relations we just make it how one felt on something before speaking it up and many times we just dont need the words to express to each others as we understand each other's feelings very well.
Well I think all the friends should be like that.I will love to have many like that.

she is just right.can't explain it actually.from the moment we met ,we just connect at every single thing.we do have our ups and downs like the rest of life but somehow...things just get better and ok again...i am actually the opposite of her.she makes me a better person and we compliment each other in ways only friends and friendships only knows how...in a way ,it is weird...having her as a best friend does not put a fullstop at you for not making more friends.she is just a little bit much better and understand you at a different level than the rest.that is all.....making more friends is good.it teaches you to be people
