Having the desire and ability to dance does not mean you are gay and being gay does not mean that you are into or have the ability to dance.

For all straight men who don't like to dance, let me tell you, it is a TREMENDOUS way to meet young single good looking women.

Think about it, where else can you hold a beautiful lady close to you one moment, and then go ask another beautiful lady to do the same thing during the next song. Husbands, boyfriends and men looking for love should all go out and learn how to dance. Why? Because most women LOVE to dance, and it is always good to make the women that you love happy.

I myself am a swing dance instructor and have had the good fortune of meeting some great women.

As to the person above who said men should only dance with women, in partner dances you only have LEADS(most generally men) and FOLLOWS(most generally ladies), not males and females.

In some circumstances, when the sex ratio is way off(not one male to one female), it is NOT consider gay to have two men or two women dance together. Actually, in some instances following a great male LEAD may make you a better LEAD as you will understand how the FOLLOW reacts to certain dance steps.

For instance, if you are too forceful in your lead movements, you can actually injure the follow(which is NEVER a good idea)

as a male who likes to dance. i must say that i get a lot of crap from other people. and the ones that don't give me crap thinks its really cool. i dance ballet modern and jazz.....but i actually got into dance breaking and doing hip-hop. i like dance but its not all of who i am. so why would you judge me on that alone. also if you look at male ballet stars....the majority of them are actually straight. its only a few that are gay that people tend to focus on. so i say that if you are a guy wanting to dance, go for it and try it. then decide if you like it. just know that not everyone will understand.

ummm.... a lot of the time i think that they're gay even when they say they are straight. ballet is a little weird witht he tights and stuff, no ofense. but the jazz and modern is actually pretty cool. im not a dancer and i know nothing about dance but i think that those types of dance are kinda girly but if they are performed right (watch So You Think You Can Dance) men can actually turn the dance into a very masculine form.

you shouldn't care what others think. i think it's wonderful that an artistic sophisticated person like you would actually take dance like ballet modern and jazz because i don't know many guys that take dance like that besides breakdancing and hip hop. i think it's totally fine and very normal. and also, i take ballet for a long time, and there are some very well educated male ballet teachers there and they are very highly respected

I love a man who can dance and believe (ballet, modern and jazz) they take more strength to do than it does to play football.

for a little lol, receivers cant catch a football, dancers have to catch a woman.

Those of us (women) who dance might have slightly less warped perception, because we get to meet many dancing men. They are normal people (surprise!) with a better posture, stronger muscles and better taste. They can be nice or mean, gay or straight, just like any other.

My lifting partner is straight and he loves to dance. His college major is dance. I don't think anything of it. He's extremely talented and I don't think it should matter what anyone else thinks anyways. No one at our studio says anything except that he's a good dancer, and he is. He excels at everything and if he loves to do it that's great.

just because some men have a desire to dance doesn't mean that they can't have the same desire to love someone. i know lots because i am a dancer, and they are really nice! partnering helps to build your trust... especially sit lifts!
