If a person was weird I would stay away. Strange I might talk to them. Weird is kinda creepy. Strange is just different then normal.

Strange is likely more polite and weird sounds bit rude.....Its like use the word strange if you think you're a refined individual If you're not weird is better!
It is something like using the words zombie moron and feather headed!
Well it could be like Mom don't you think Bob is strange and when you say this to your friends its like Dude Bob is so weird!

weird means unusual in general...but you can say "strange" to things that do not fit in place accordingly.
besides weird sounds eerie sometimes and used to describe material facts....but strange is usually describing abstracts like saying "strange feeling" not "weird feeling".

yeah, in certain situations it's quite different. weird is generally worse when describing people.
