You'll need to learn some 'persuasion'skills with people - who do you know who has a van? Who do you know who will lug stuff for you in exchange for e.g. a meal, a few jars down the pub etc...make it a fun proposition and you should achieve your aim at minimal cost.

Sure I would help if it is not me moving I actually enjoy it O_O You might bribe friends with promises of baked something or drinks of something else most friends are happy if you cater some snacks ,while they move you. Some Doritos should be sufficient among friends!

hire a van and do it yourself.much cheaper and less damage as you pay your goods more respect than removals.
