Spain and Greece are both fantastic countries, so you can't go wrong :-)
I disagree with the people who say that you should do both, unless your honeymoon lasts a month or longer. Both of these countries have so much to offer that it would be a pity to rush through.
SPAIN: Barcelona is one of the loveliest cities in the world. It's got a beach nearby, great shopping opportunities and a lot of sights of interest. Marbella is an awful, awful place full of tourists and Russian mafia. Personally I'd rather stay at home than spend any amount of time there. Why don't you consider the province of Andalucía? You'll find historic towns like Seville, Granada and Córdoba, which offer everything from history to shopping to nightlife. There is amazing scenery and great beaches.
GREECE is beautiful, with a lot of historical sites, amazing beaches and ditto food. Shoppping is not something that especially jumps to mind when I think of Greece. The only part in Greece that I hated was Athens: a smog ridden place where the only area of interest, the Acropolis, was a horrific tourist trap. I loved island hopping in Greece (most islands are worth a visit) and can definitely recommend the Peleponese area. If you end up going there, don't miss out on the small town of Napflion!

Both countries are just great, Barcelona has fine architecture, but Marbella is so crowded with tourists that I would avoid it. In my opinion Athens is a city you just must see with all the ancient monuments (although it´s very hot in the summer). The Greek islands are just marvellous. You just go to Piraeus the harbour city not so far from Athens and there you can choose boats to any island you want to see. If you want to stay over night check with a tourist office, but you can just stay for a day and come back the same day. The Greek islands are just fantastic.

Greece! The Scandinavian international places sound very chilly and dark as we talk of year. Greece is often time-honored for summer season holidays, however the mainland is a mountainous and beutiful place for iciness. For a honeymoon, i might advise Monemvasia (Malvasia), a maximum romantic medieval city, or Zagorochoria, a fine looking mountainous area with picturesque villages, rivers, wonderful for trekking, using, etc. additionally the Meteora, extensive rocks on suitable of that are putting previous monasteries. A passage from Athens is a could, to bypass to the monuments, and according to hazard you additionally can bypass to Syros, an excellent island with neoclassical shape, which isn't touristic now, even though it is not thoroughly abandoned the two. in case you do bypass to Syros, attempt to e book at "Archontiko Vourli" or "Syrou Melathron", that is nicely worth it to your honeymoon. e mail me in case you decide on extra info.

Its kinda hard, because im also planning my honeymoon and im going to both places. Madrid & barcelona for spain. Athens and Santorini for Greece. You better go to both place. There are lots of budget airlines leaving in between countries like air comet, aegean airs, olympic air. But if you have to choose only one, i would prefer greece :) Enjoy!

If you can afford it, then I say go to both. I mean, this is your honeymoon, so I think you would want to make it as enjoyable and as memorable as possible.

GREECE! I went there for mine and it is amazing. Santorini and Crete were low-keyed, yet not dead. In Crete, hike the gorge! It is "gorge"ous...sorry, had to do that.
Santorini is famous for its sunsets and romantic atmosphere.
