In the shops there has got to be clothes that arn't sold and when they can't get rid of it where does it go

There's not much that doesn't eventually sell. Once the price is cut enough almost anything will sell. The very little that remains goes to charity if appropriate.

they are sold at end of year sales, really cheaply. Items left are then forwarded warehouses and sold as seconds or out of date clothing. So what is left is eventually donated to charity (not a lot left though)

they get sent to the outlet stores and put on sale.
