I'm wondering what is done before and after this step as well.

Does the lighting or painting come first?

What about the trimmings?

As in any house, paint the walls and ceilings and floors first.
Then, in this order, wiring, flooring, wallpaper, fittings (like sockets and lamps) and trimmings and finally the little details like nails to hang the paintings.
You may have to paint details after doing other jobs, like in your own house you might do the doors last, but try to keep those jobs to a minimum when you can not take out the parts, as paint does drip.

electrics first. if you use flat tape wire lay out all you wires and cross overs first all the way down tot he transformer connector.

next comes the floors. vinyl is easy cut and glue, wood boards are cut - stain - glue - finish. (gloss or semi gloss)

then wallpaper - precut and paste - use an exacto knife whenever possible.

Finally cover all the edges with molding and trim (also covers minor errors)

I think you just asked a question about installing the lighting. You picked the wrong hobby. You don't have a clue about this dollhouse except that dolls go into it. Get a book...Read...Research then try again. Better yet, give the dollhouse to someone who knows what they are doing and pay them.
