how do I clean out and prepare for the display of 2 types of snail shells?

The traditional method is to put the shells near an ant-hill, and let the ants clean them out. They're quick, thorough, and work cheap.

Ants will do a good job on the snails. You can also put the snails in boiling water and then use a nut picker to get the innards out.
