Hi, my partner and I will be visiting the 3 islands in Sept. We would appreciate as much info as possible from anyone especially on

1) Food (what we must not miss!)
2) Car Rental (what's an ideal model for 2 person and price range)
3) International phone call (what's the cheapest way to call?)

And would appreciate as much other info as possible!!!

Many thanks to those who take time to read and answer my questions ((( )))

Eat in small tavernas the traditional foods. They are all delicious, just avoid sea food (not fish though), sometimes tehy may cause poisoning.
Visit Acrotiri, the town destroyed by the volcano in Santorini, and also go horse riding by the sea in mesa Gonia in Santorini also (you will see signs).Oia is the nicest town there.
As for car rental, the price largely depends on the season and the island, the places you are going to are quite touristic. get a small car, whatever is available, you don't need a big one, just drive carefully.
As for calls, there are some pre-paid cards with discount prices, ask in the kiosques when you arrive in Athens.

Mykonos and Santorini are both PACKED during the summer months and also the most expensive places you could go on holidays in Greece. The best beaches of Greece are here in northern Greece, where I live...:)) Seriously, this region has a LOT to offer for anyone wanting an adventure and not just do the same as everyone else.

Go to the tavernas and enjoy. The seafood is wonderful. Be careful of the shell fish since you might be alergic. On many islands, there are no cars, so the rental question might be moot. However, you can rent scooters and mopeds. They're more fun anyway. Most of the islands are small and scooters, mopeds and walking are more than good enough.

I never tried to use the phone for trans-Atlantic calls, so I can't help you there.
