Jon... forgive a non-Americana's opinion .. ( i am sure you will but others won't) ...

But I genuinely believe that the MOST patriotic thing a person can do IS critisise their Government If they genuinely believe that what that Government is doing is detrimental to the well being of the nation and the nation's people.

So easy it for the sheep to call you Un-American or Un-patriotic .. and so BLOODY HARMFUL is it for them to do so ... If they want to follow blindly ,, that's their bad luck.

and I am fed up to the frig* gen back teeth of the pathetic whiney catch-phrase " you are not supporting the troops"

for pete's sake .. All the Americans I know who are anti-ware and anti=GWB ... come from Military families and they DO SUPPORT THE TROOPS .. they are not the ones sending these young men and women to the slaughter.
And Jon ALL you have to do is ask these people ... WHERE ARE EITHER OF THE BUSH TWINS ,,, and why aren't THEY serving .

It is not "unAmerican" to question your governments' action. But to do so in a manner that challenges or undermines the government is not proper. WE are a country where the rule of law is held supreme, If you disagreement with the actions our government is taken within the boundaries of legal descent then you are American, but if your actions cause obstruction of the law you are at best breaking the law, even if you think it a silly law.

I notice you have not said what you have done to be labeled "American" and who labeled you that. If you were providing aid and comfort to one of our countries enemies, you are lucky to only be callied unAmerican, instead of brought up on charges. Remember we are in a declared war on Terrorism. Some illegal acts can just get you stood against the wall and shot.

But if you, thru you congressional representative ask that a bill be introduced to correct a specific issue, that is American but to take matters in your own hands, which I am sure you can name then, yes your acts may well be labeled unAmerican, an example of which is burning our nation's flag

Just communication problems with misinterpretation, miscommunication, communication failures with communication break-down.
Back in the past before independence we call it corruption is a sin.
After independence "the young one" call it commission agent or side income with their own side business while at work and it is not a sin to earn a little bit extra to have a better standard of living..
Since others were doing it so openly.
Why can't have one on my own too.
That is how the mess get out of hands and became a sin which is not doing any good for the mankind.
With lost sense and direction of purpose of life.
They keep on breaking our creator's universal constituiition.
Until they get caught with two hands full in their pockets.
Only then they realise it is was a sin.

All governments are corrupt. The British government though "friendly" with america is corrupt to the core. The public have been tax cheated and sold out to europe for the last 10 years by the Labour government.
Thing is all human governments are inherently corrupt. There may be honest politicians but the ones that hold the reins of power are liable to dishonesty and corruption.
Troops are not fighting for our freedom if they are fighting a war that is not related to our freedom. The war on terrorism is doing the terrorist work for them. We have turned our country into fortresses of fear and suspicion. Civil rights are eroded in the name of war on terrorism.

Last I checked, you had to prove someone was guilty not disprove it. Usually also takes charges that require evidence and a court finding of guilty.

But lets not let facts get in the way of a good story. Who are you killing if you are not in the military?

That is a label they give someone who questions authority.

Were the founding fathers "unEnglish" for standing up to King George? They were committing treason. I owe it to these men who stood for truth & freedom to fight against oppression, tyranny & a despotic government that is constantly stealing my God given rights. If no one takes a stand, there will be no America as we used to know it.

a true patriot is like a true friend, they will always tell you the truth no matter how much it hurts.
but corruption has to be proven by justice, after a trial. it's our duty to question the government if we feel that they're not doing the right thing, that's what democracy is all about, but corruption has to be proven in a trial, otherwise it's just an opinion

What is "American"?
American was started by people who questioned their government, the English, and revolted against that corrupt government and started a new country.

People that would call you that are attempting to influence your mind with propaganda because they are caught up in the fear that this government propagates. Watch V for Vendetta the movie... or read 1984 by george orwell..peace

Don't feel bad, baby. Anyone whom questions anything that is opposing the norm gets accused of being against what they are critiquing. Freethinkers don't really have the freedom to be able to say how they feel without being ostracized. It doesn't have to be that way if you don't let them phase us. We can't remain silent forever. Most people don't question anything and believe any type of B.S. that they hear. Others don't care, and many people are afraid to say how they feel because they know how conservative most people are. It shouldn't be that way. Things are changing and I don't think it will be that way for long.

Great question by the way:)

culture warrior 8 cut and paste his answer. liberal, blah, blah. man it must be nice to have someone to blame for all your problems.

Got a problem? blame a liberal. Got a zinger? blame a Conservative.

Who said anything about terrorist in this question?

I think people like, this person deserve to live in fear, They sit around all day and think of terrorist. caged responses, learn them and learn how to shut them down.

It's really easy to do, once you get the hang of it. You can turn the "UnAmerican" argument on them every time.

Remember you have taken in both sides of the argument. now use your knowledge to overcome these numbskull's.

They are easily manipulated obviously, so getting them to sound stupid is not hard at all.

Good luck And God bless you and your family.

Focus on your faith in Jesus and everything will be fine.
