If your tank has been set up for less than two months or you've used an antibiotic in it recently, it's probably a normal event called cycling. This is because the fish in your tank produce ammonia, which is toxic to them. Fortunately, there are beneficial bacteria that convert them to nitrite (also toxic) and another group that converts the nitrite to nitrate. A new tank doesn't have a lot right after it's set up, it takes a few months to develop, and if you use an antibiotic, these don't distinguish good bacteria from bad. But as long as there's more ammonia or nitrite thanis being converted by the bacteria in the tank, they'll reproduce at a very rapid rate and make the tank look cloudy.

If you do 25% water changes weekly (or if you're testing your water whenever the ammonia or nitrite go above 0.5), siphon your gravel, and don't overfeed the fish, this will go away once the bacteria population is such that all of the ammonia is being converted.

Sounds to me that you need to do a water change. Most likely you might be over feeding your fish. I would suggest a 50% water change. Make sure that the water tempt of the clean water that you putting in your tank is within at least two degrees of what your current water tempt in the tank is. Change your filters with new and clean ones.

Make sure that you keep your water changes up at least once a week or every two weeks changing the water at 25% or at least two to three inches from where the current water line is. This should help.

Also if you have been treating you tank for some type of disease some of these medications can cause the murkiness. If that is the case I would wait until it is treated-or whatever the directions say before changing the water. Some medications have a phone number or web site that you can contact to ask for advice.
