WELL OF COURSE -->> "Everything happens for a REASON".

BUT people who BELIEVE IT generally MEAN . . . "Everything happens for a (pre-determined) reason, BEYOND MY CONTROL".

And, If you believe that, then you also believe that -->> YOU CONTROL NOTHING.

What a shame.

ONLY HUMAN ARROGANCE CAN EXPLAIN WHY PEOPLE THINK THIS WAY. Think about it. "Im soooooo special, that everything that happens to me is mapped out, so I can just sit back with my arms folded and enjoy the ride. So when good and bad happen, I will juts call it KARMA (or whatever) and not care, because I didn't have anything to do with it anyway."

Brutal.

My personal definition of "FATE" (or desitiny) is -->> The INTENTIONAL choices we make when things happen by CHANCE. And "CHANCE" is the ONLY thing that happens to you for a reason beyond your control. Now the rest is up to you. You can ignore it. Or you can identify it and TAKE IT. So you will see, that "everything that happens to YOU for a reason" depends entirely on YOU.

If I DECIDE go RIGHT instead of LEFT when presented with CHANCE , the choice I made was MINE. From that point on . . . . anything GOOD that happens is something I can congraulate MYSELF for. Anything BAD is MY FAULT, and my complete responsibility to fix.

Pre-dermined "FATE" - beyond my control - plays no role here. And I would shudder to think that it did. Because I can CHOOSE to run for president today, or throw everything I have away and live on the street.

People who think "everything happens for a reason" prefer to live behind the security blanket of UNACCOUNTABILITY.

>> "Oh well, I didn't get that job after all".
- Yes. While the REASON may be that you didn't get the job . . . you CAN'T just STOP THERE and say "Everything happens for a reason (beyond my control)".

--->>>You MUST remind yourself that you COULD have been offered the job, because THEY WERE HIRING.

If people believe that "Everything happens for a reason (beyond their control)", then it serves to PROVE that those people are not allowed to CELEBRATE their SUCCESSES.

But you and I BOTH KNOW, they are gonna do it anyway.

LOL!

"But thats OK, because when I am a failure - if I believe that everything BAD happens for a reason (beyond my control) - then nothing is my fault."

How conveniently LAME.

Alot of people think you are RICH when you have ALOT OF MONEY. But that's just not true. You are "RICH" when you have alot of OPPORTUNITY to CONTROL your own future.

OPPORTUNITY, CHANCE and COINSIDENCE are the ONLY things that MAY make you WEALTHY, HEALTHY and SUCCESSFUL.

Most people don't even RECOGNIZE THEM.
Few people GET THEM.
Even fewer TAKE THEM.

So when you look back, and things didn't turn out the way you had hoped . . . you can tell youself "everything happened for a reason (beyond my control)".

And the REASON was . . . YOU didn't do A THING about it because you once believed you controlled NOTHING.

Now just imagine . . . how things COULD have been IF you believed the OPPOSITE was true.

:)

Yes, I have always believed that. You may not know the reason at the time it's happening especially if it's something bad but you will find out somewhere down the road.

Of course! Even when we do not see or understand the reason I believe God is in charge so I am just grateful he gives me chance after chance. I believe we meet everyone for a reason as well.

If you reason out so as to convince yourself then you believe that all that happens is for a reason; If you accept life as it comes your way...you don't reason but just live it!

I try to believe that-- but things are a little tough right now, ya know? So being at peace with life is not a strong point for me at the moment.
