Seems scientist may be called upon soon if this drought don,t loose it's grip on our nation to use their rainmaking know how. Does anyone know the steps that need to be taken before these skills are utilized? How expensive is this procedure and who pays the bill?...james h

First they have to find a way to make rain, which is really, really difficult when there are no clouds and the humidity is low. The cost of research in this area has been borne in the past by taxpayers, and the dividends have been next to nil.

If you are talking about the US, the drought is nearly over, except in the Southwest, where it can be expected to continue for the next millennium or two.
