i would def. avoid saw and rob zombie movies i think they are a little too gory and grown up for an 11 year old.
- War Of the Worlds
- Hide And Seek
- The Grudge
- The Ring isent too bad - a little cussing and a few scary faces is all.
- Lady in the water
all those are suppost to be scary but there not so they would be good for an 11 year old !!

What about The Mummy? (Brendan Fraser version) Though she's probably seen that. (Rated PG-13)
Monster Squad is a good one. More funny than scary, but it's still got Dracula, Frankenstein's monster, Wolfman, possible end of the world stuff. How does she feel about 80s movies? (Rated PG-13)
When I was about her age, I really liked the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, and so did my dad. (It's way different than the show.) (Rated PG-13)
Don't forget about Lost Boys. Another 80s movie, but probably one of the best vampire movies ever. (Rated R)
Blood & Chocolate isn't out on DVD yet, but it probably will be soon. It's about a female werewolf (about 19, I think) who falls in love with a mortal and the pack that tries to keep them apart. It was obviously made by a female for females, so it's not nasty or too sexual. And the werewolves are actual wolves, not people dressed up in costumes that make them look like giant rats. (Rated PG-13)
There's a TV show she might like, too. Has she seen Supernatural on the CW? My mom and I watch it together every Thursday.

I was twelve when I saw The Ring. I thought it was good, although it was a little intense. Stay Alive is another good scary movie. It doesn't involve too much gore. Other movies I've seen which I thought were okay:
Cry Wolf
Signs
The Others
War Of The Worlds

The Adam's Family is a very good so-called "Scary" movie which children can enjoy irrespective of their age.It was an animated cartoon show which has also been adapted into a Hollywood movie.
The other movies which come to my mind are:-
1) Tales from the Crypt (all of them...they are short & scary)
2) Psycho ( though a little bit intense....its a great movie)

Rather than a "slasher" type of scary movie, what about something more psychologically scary instead? One of my favourite psychological thrillers is an older movie called "The Seventh Sign", which stars Demi Moore, Michael Biehn and Jurgen Prochnow. It has to do with the seven signs of the Apocalypse. It is an excellent movie and has a really good ending too, which is sometimes hard to come by when it comes to horror movies. I highly recommend this one and it is the type of movie you could also watch with her and really enjoy.............

My daughter liked Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (George Clooney is the soda jerk) and The Rocky Horror Picture Show when she was twelve. They're both campy but fun.
