It's almost midnight and I have to be at work at nine in the morning. I have to leave home at about 8:15, which means I have to wake up at 6:30. Would that be considered fighting sleep? lol

Yes. but I think I have a "disorganized" sleeping schedule.
There are different reasons for people to fight sleep, sometimes they can be a serious condition....

Yep... I think I am just naturally nocturnal. Whenever I have the choice of when to go to bed (meaning, I don´t have to wake up early in the morning) I never hit the sack before 3 am.

It depends. Lately it seems as though there arent enough hours in the day to get everything done and still have a bit of time to myself.

I would kill for some sleep.... I can't sleep at night, I end up falling asleep at 3 in the morning, which leads me waking up at 1 pm, which leads me staying up all night again.
