If she says her name is Thoretta, people will think her name is Loretta, but the hath a theech impediment, like Thindy Brady.
And although Superman has Supergirl and Batman has Batgirl, as far as I know Thor does not have a Thoretta. Maybe you should try a name like Sif, Valkyrie, or Brunnhilda.
Or how about Thora? There's a Thora Birch, isn't there?
"Oh, when you think of Thora...
Laugh, don't cry,
I know
she'd want it that way...."

to tell you the truth...it's not a great name..since your son has the name Thor, give something else different and unique to your daughter, give your wife a chance too cause the baby is her daughter too...find a name that you both agree on

Thor is a great name and also a very masculin name. Thoretta for a female is probably not a good option, because it is to agrresive. Sorry, but I agree with your wife.

She's being very unreasonable here. Thoretta is possibly the most brilliant name for a girl I've ever heard.

Well, just think about this: What would her nickname be? THOR! Two Thor's in the household? I don't think so. I'm with your wife on this one.

You'll get confused; the names are too similar! What if she is a tomboy and wants to go by 'Thor'? You'll call for one kid and get the other-- too confusing!
