Military bases equals supporting your country? Another statement not based in any kind of fact other than your obvious prejudice. I'm starting to wonder what supporting your country actually means to some republicans. Constantly bashing liberals is not supporting our country, it's dividing it, and that's what I see from many people on here.

i have noticed that, being an army veteran myself and married to a soldier, that you are only slightly correct. research your demographics and look up stats. i thought that too when I was in the service but not for very long, there are likely just as many soldiers who join up from big cities (I had alot of friends from each burrow out of New York City, the surrounding areas of LA Ca, and even Puerto Rico) for very similar reasons that the soldiers who sign up from the south do.
Also research educational demographical stats...it would be interesting to have some honest insight to that regard. Consider educational levels not only to the service member but to the surrounding areas, job availability in the areas most recruited from, outsourcing of jobs in areas most recruited out of.
Many people still join up for the opportunity's that the military provide compared to what their current situation has to offer.

Never thought about the miltary bases. I thought they were everywhere fairly equally, but I certainly could be wrong.
I think liberals are the way they are because it's not fair (take your pick on which issue) and they feel guilty about it. They feel guilty that they are so prosperous compred to others, or America is so mighty, or whatever.
They feel things must change until everyone is equal in outcome. America too must be made equal with other countries. No American exceptionalism for them.

Easy there, big fella. . . I'm a southerner, and pretty liberal, AND I feel like I do my fair share to support my country: among other things, I give blood, I donate to soldier support causes (like BooksForSoldiers), and I vote.
Are you saying that because I don't agree with you, I'm not "supporting" my country. Why, that's down-right un-american of you!

Most military bases are not in the south. The northeast and west have just as many: http://www.cr.nps.gov/nagpra/DOCUMENTS/BasesMilitaryMAP.htm

I am from the NORTH and I live in a VERY Republican county. We are an upper middle class, church going, moral-driven area and we are very educated - not sheltered!
You can look up facts about your county on-line.
