I have one ankle that swells more than the other. Soak your feet in cool water, put them up, rest, relax, don't walk so much, stay away from salty foods are all things you can do to try and get the swelling to go down or not come back.

If the swelling is extreme, or there is no swelling in the other ankle, if it doesn't go down to normal after resting for a couple hours with the foot elevated then I would call your doctor or head for a clinic or emerg to have your blood pressure checked and examined for circulation restrictions. Better to be safe than sorry!

Probably should try to stay off your feet as much as possible. I had swelling towards the end of my pregnancy and I would either sit in my hot tub (turned down the temperature so that it was more like a warm swimming pool...doc said it was ok) or I'd just rest and put my feet up.

put your feet up! Yes its normal to have some swelling late in the pregnancy but a lot of swelling should be reported to the Dr immediately especially if they are concerned about blood pressure

Go to this link and see if what you are experiencing matches with a DVT a blood clot. If it does then you need to go the the ER immediately. Take Care
