She is pretty big, and I put her in a breeding net.
The net has a few plastic plants. What i want to know is if placing her in this net is going to cause her stress or is it okay

When I had Mollies,I never separated the pregnant females from the rest of the fish until they started to give birth. Then I would put her into the breeding net to finish giving birth, and when all the babies were born,I took her out and left the babies in there.Also.my mollies never ate their babies. In fact, they would "herd" the babies into a bunch of floating plants, apparently to keep them safe. This would be when one of the females would give birth when I wasn't around.A couple times,I just left the babies in the tank, and they just hid in the plants until they were big enough to not be seen as a meal to the other fish.If you have other types of fish,or big fish,or if you have an African frog, they WILL eat the babies,so it is best to leave them in the net. But,the mom will get stressed if you leave her in there for too long,so I would just wait until birth is imminent.

Yes it will!! If you really want to save the babies, I suggest you go to Petsmart and get a floating breeder. It floats at the top of your tank and allows the water to circulate better than the net. Since it is clear plastic, it is easy to see the fry. When they come out, they can swim to an area in the breeder that is seperated from the mother. So she doesn't eat them!! Keeping her in this or a net will stress her out. If she looks like she is gonna burst. Put her in overnight and check every few hours. Don't leave her in there for too long. No more than a day. This is a livebearer, so there will be a bunch of fry. To feed the babies, crumble your regular fish food into powder. This should work, you can also pick up fry food at a pet store.

If you are sure she is close to the due date (28) days, leave her in the breeders net. Be sure you are feeding her a little extra. More than likely she is confused as to why she cannot swim freely.

It isn't normal behavior however mollies sometimes get ansy just before giving birth.

Congrads on the soon to be little ones.
