I'm getting confused because all of the books, and pregnancy websites all use a different method it seems like. Some go by 9 months, and some by 10. So, if I'm 23 weeks, next week I turn 6 months, and will be 6 months for 4 weeks, right? Where does the 9 months, not 10 thing come in? I don't understand why this is so confusing. Im due October 9th.

A pregnancy month is 28 days, so there are 10 pregnancy months.

A calendar month has 30-31 days in it, so there are 9 1/2 calendar months in which you are pregnant, assuming you go to 40 weeks.

The first 2 weeks of your pregnancy you haven't conceived yet so really you are only with child for 9 calendar months.

Because there are different ways of calculating if you go by months, those of us in the medical profession use weeks. It's far more accurate. Someone 5 months is 20-24 weeks and there is a huge difference in deveolpment at 20 weeks versus 24 weeks. You are pregnant 40 weeks which is 10 lunar months or 9 1/2 calender months.

You are in your second trimester, you are six months pregnant. Week 25-28 you are seven months pregnant, week 29-32 eight months and 33-36 is nine months and last it sounds crazy but doctors say 37-40 is ten months. I always got how many weeks and months pregnant i was wrong at first. But you are six months preg and you will be six months preg for two weeks. And it is confusing, it seems to me that after every three weeks you turn a new month.

your actually considered pregnant 2 weeks before you were. so a full pregnancy is 40 weeks 4 weeks times ten is forty. your pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period. so you are 5 months and 3 weeks until you hit 24 weeks then you are 6 months

okay so the "10 months" thing is really that first month that you become pregnant because theoretically you ovulate at day 14 (different for everyone) which if this is on a 28 day cycle (again different for everyone) you have about a month from the time your cycle starts (the first day or your last period) to implantation of the fertilized egg. so that plus the 9 months of pregnancy, equals 10 months total. If you're 23 weeks... think of it this way... there are 4 weeks in a month... so that would mean you are almost 6 months. Look at your pregnancy in weeks and it won't be as confusing. The average human gestation is around 40 weeks... so you're about just over half way there! Have fun! Hope that helps.
