The girl's name Melody is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "music, song". First used in the 13th century, though uncommon.

Melody has 5 variant forms: Melodee, Melodey, Melodi, Melodia and Melodie.

I don't like it too much- it reminds me of the girl named Melody on the Nickelodeon show "Hey Dude" in the early 90's.

I think it's sweet, plus different but not TOO different. Plus, if you want her to have a nick name you could call her Mel. I have a friend named Melanie and we call her Mel and sometimes Melon :]
