Shows are typically $70+. You can find some magic shows for $30. Your major expense will be clubs and drinks. When I am in Las Vegas, I will either eat breakfast ($10 - $15) or have a big lunch. If I have a big lunch ($15 - $20), I won't eat dinner. But if you are partying, more than likely you will wake up around noon and get something to eat at that time. At New York/New York, they have a food court so you may be able to eat inexpensively. If you don't drink like a fish, and reserve your shows to one, $500 will last you during your stay.

There are a lot of places to eat for very cheap, so you can spend your money elsewhere.
The Luxor:
Quiznos Sub
Luxor Coffee Company (featuring Krispy Creme donuts)
McDonald's
Nathan's
Little Caesars Pizza
Swenson's Ice Cream
Starbucks Coffee
Excalibur:
Cold Stone Creamery
Krispy Kreme
Manchu Wok
McDonald's
Pizza Hut
Quizno's
Starbucks
Also, the round table buffet was about $12 per person and was pretty good for lunch. Nothing special about it, however if you're looking for cheap food and all-you-can-eat this would be a good choice.
Also, try the Harley Davidson Cafe
link to their menu here:
http://www.harley-davidsoncafe.com/PDFs/BIGMENU.jpg
They have burgers w/fries for $8.95 and various sandwiches, BBQ, pasta, etc for $10-20
Margaritaville at the Flamingo is also a great place to eat and excellent food/drinks. Not too pricey, $10-$15 average price for burgers, pasta, sandwiches, etc. they also have steaks/BBQ and all that for a bit more.
You can see their menu here:

You can drink for free if you gamble. I know you mentioned gambling isn't a priority, however, you can just put in $2 at a nickel or penny slot machine and play a while! A server will come around and you get free drinks. If you tip them, they'll come around more often. I had the best luck at the NY NY casino, their drink service was excellent.
Night clubs generally have a large cover charge ($20+) per person and drinks are outrageous in price. You can find the top 10 rated night clubs and descriptions for each on this website:

Walking around all the hotels is a lot of fun, each one has their own theme and lots of things to see. A couple things I thought were worthwhile:
- White tiger exhibit at the Mirage, inside the lobby to your left.
- Eiffel Tower Experience at Paris - $9-12 per person. You'll be taken to the 50th floor with excellent views
- Bellagio fountains - the fountains are set to music. Pretty cool to see.
- Volcano at the Mirage - it goes off every 15 minutes in front of the Mirage.
- The Sirens at Treasure Island - sexy women battling pirates, what more could you ask for? ;)
If you check the magazines located in your hotel room, there's usually some great coupons in there with 2-for-1 admission to shows or discounts for restaurants.
Visit the big "coke bottle" (can't miss it) near the MGM Grand on the day of a show to get 1/2 price tickets. They're open from Noon - 9pm

If you'd like to visit Fremont St, try the Deuce bus. The fare is $2 (exact change required).
On Fremont Street, there's a hotel called the Golden Gate that has $1 shrimp cocktail, and at Mermaid’s you can get $1 fried Twinkies or Oreos.

good luck.. everything in this town is expensive.. especially the clubs.. you spend money like crazy.. the strip clubs too. All of the really good restaurants are very expensive, and the decent shows will start around 75 or so a ticket.. but go up from there.. So i don't know.. I think the most affordable good show here is mystere at the ti.. strip clubs are all the same. Each hotel has a variety of different types of places to eat.. but then i almost forgot.. you are here to gamble too right?? which will cost you more money...

I'm the expert. I was there last month and stayed 8 days. I took only $1,600.00 for the duration. I gamed all day, black-jack $5.00 a hand, slots too! I ate buffet at all the casino's that ended in the word station. I'd already seen a lot of the shows because I visit Vegas 3 times a year. I ride the Deuce bus with a $5.00 a day 24 hour pass and I take advantage of the free slot play at most casinos. Since your flight and room are pd. you can have fun. After all was won and lost, said and done- from my original $1,6000, I returned home with $1,300! I had a ball and only spent $300.00

Look on the outskirts of town for a motel--Sam's (been awhile) they are way cheap and have a huge complex within the motel area. Otherwise you are up a creek for the amount of money you have to spend. You can ride a bus from there to the strip and then walk around--shows--many take only advance reservations--without you have to rent their room--100 up a night. Then the show can be 100+. You will have to eat fast food or take canned goods with you.

Stay at the motel 6 on Tropicana next to the hooters casino it is cheap and very close to strip and major casinos like mgm across street 1/2 is excalibur, nyny, mandalay bay. Go to comedy shows like second city. the smaller the casino the show is in the cheaper the show will probably be. stratosphere has a good impersonater show as does harrah's. a good one if you want to spend the money is O at the Bellagio and Blue Man Group. Eat your big meal at lunch buffet's same food as the dinner buffet's but half the price. Then get a sandwich or hot dog for dinner. Slots of fun next to circus circus has 1.00 corona's or somewhere around there and equally cheap margarita's and food. there is a bar across the side street from bally's which has cheap beer and hot dogs. Imperial palace is fairly cheap on drinks and so is the irsh place next to it cant think of name. An offstrip good cheap resturaunt is at Palace Station the Irish pub inside the casino is very good food and beer. Excalibur, Circus Circus, and flamingo have on average the best buffet's. The food at the cafe inside the hooters hotel is good and fairly inexpensive. go to the club in mandaly its cool. Good ambience. nyny is good for drinks too coyote ugly. food and drinks cheaper downtown lv, but be aware there can be a lot of crime and theft there so be extra careful downtown. there are lots of ways to get discoutned tickets go to the m&m building next to mgm they sell same day tix at reduced rates.
