I've already made up my mind, but I have some problems: even though my father has agreed to pay me about one thousand dollars to support me, is my mom required to do so as well? where do I find fitting housing? if I do find a decent one bedroom apartment, is the landlord justified to rent to a minor of sixteen years old?

Why would you think your Mom or Dad would be "Required" to pay you anything? If youre moving out, then you should be on your own. Or stay home, stay in school, and grow up.

Nobody is going to rent to a sixteen year-old. Stay home and finish your education, then consider moving.

Edit: You can live for a thousand dollars a month in California, even in LA. You'll have to have roommates and you won't be eating out ever. It'll be a frugal existence but it can be done.

If you think you can live off a thousand a month in Cali then you better stay where your at because you're not ready for prime time.
