He came over and killed my overindulgent vibe as I drank an ice cold New Castle without a care in the world.

I was feeling generous though and pulled out some spare change from my backpack. (roughly $0.40 worth)

After all is done, he looks at the money in his hands and has the audacity to ask "Is this it?"

I mean damn.. the balls on this guy!

I was so impressed at his lack of shame that I gave him a beer. He left with a smile.

Am I an enabler or did I do the right thing?! Hmm..

A New Castle on Tyme brew???? i've only tasted it once. (At a celtic games fest in Arizona.) By far the best beer on the planet.

My grandad sailed from New Castle in 1893 - Too bad - if he'd stayed, I could drink one whenever I wanted.

oh, yeah...your question. yes, of course you did the right thing. especially if it was a New Castle.

What I do not understand is why you would be impressed with a lack of shame? ( for not having gratitude ) If you said, what the H and just gave the beer to him, perhaps all right. Then again this might embolden him to be more aggressive at the wrong time in the future, thus causing a problem for some one not capable of handling it.

an exceedingly obscure question. If a homeless guy is being kicked, then it reflects that people who kick him have the mentality of donkeys and asses, and it additionally reflects that the customary public gazing it without assisting are cowards.

Good on yer M8 !!! Live and let live.
Gotta empathise with the guy who gets 40c while the donor is sucking on a beer.

something similar happened to me once. I was at a recreation area when a guy came begging for money. I handed him a trash bag and told him to pick up trash and when the bag was full I would pay him $5. He told me to get &*&*ed. Guess he was mad because I wouldn't just give it to him.

You did a rightious deed. A lesser man would've handed the poor guy a sand-dollar, & told him to "get lost". You got MY vote! :)
