Will the team really miss him that much?

I've been an Astros fan all my life and I wasn't upset to see Clemens or Pettitte leave. Pettitte was mediocre at best in his 3 seasons in Houston. Clemens only plays half the season, he's only good for 5 innings a start and he tied up too much payroll. Good riddance to both of them.

I think Pettitte is overrated, he has never really been a dominating pitcher just a dependable one. Even though in Houston he wasn't even that. So missing him, no not so much! The Astros have some great young talent and should rise to the top of the central if they can get some consistent pitching. I do agree with the poster above me about waiting on Biggio, I love him and all but come on don't drag the whole team along. I hope he can catch fire soon and put that mileston behind him so he can retire and move on. On missing Pettitte, I think Oswalt, Jennings and Rodriguez have been doing pretty good, if Williams will pick it up then the rotation should be fine. This team will have a great second half and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the playoffs.

Not really, no. The 2007 team has more problems than Pettitte would have been able to help solve. The Astros need a serious rebuilding while Oswalt and Berkman are in their primes, but right now it's The Biggio Show, waiting for him to crawl past 3000, and it's really getting annoying. Not Craig so much, but how the entire season is being sacrificed for his quest.

The Killer Bs era is over, but the last one hasn't yet left the party.

I'm a Yankee fan, and I could care less if Astro fans are mad about Pettitte leaving. I've followed Andy Pettitte's career since he was in the Gulf Coast League in 1991, and saw him win four championships with the Yankees. It was very hard to see him leave and we are glad to have him back for a year or two and to end his career where it began.

Why do Astro fans have any right to be angry? Is it ok for the Astros to sign players from other teams but wrong for teams to do the same to them? Pettitte is a Yankee, always was even as he was wasting three years in Cowtown Houston. The ONLY reason he signed with the Houston Astros (a second-rate team whose history can't even begin to compare with the Yankees) is because his family is from there.

I have to laugh at hypocrite Astro fans. They went ga-ga when Clemens and Pettitte signed there, now that those guys are gone, they are bums. What a bunch of idiots.

Y'all have a nice day now! Hear?

Miss Andy? Sure, we all liked Andy. He 's a fine athlete and a heck of a nice guy. I was sorry to see him go, but the team needs some new muscle while it is rebuilding.

Shouldn't you have asked this question in April, for the short term it might, but long term it opens up a spot for a young guy.
