number whatever: that robots will become so smart that they will begin to kill the people that created them, forcing humans to move underground to become a rebel force against them lest they get into the ground also and eat everyone... ha ha ha!!!

it goes on and on and on and on, and yet, you are all afraid, forever terrorized of your sudden death and massive death to the earth that then you had better all of a sudden become a christian, for surely, the 7 horsemen of death are approaching, as well as the rapture, which will automatically pick you up and fly you straight into heaven! oh! you had better beware!

so tell me, why you are so fascinated by the mega disaster tv programs that you watch them again and again, giving you another thing to gossip about at the water cooler? is it fun? are your coworkers as frightened as you are? has your company got emergency plans in place for the terror days that are surely coming, like, in this decade so that you will have a way out?

90% of Americans say they watch TV for the sex and violence. The other 10% say they can get their own sex and violence. I hope that answers your question.

Edit: Men especially, in particular younger men, would be drawn to such a program because they are awestruck at natures power. When they see a tornado tear the roof off a building and shatter into a million pieces they are seeing force. When they see gigantic waves crash into seaside communities they are witnessing the total devastation much like in a video game where they are an attack helicopter and they leave behind them a path of destruction.

Because shows like that are interesting. I especially like volcano shows myself, and will set the DVR to catch a good tornado show.

However, I have to agree that some of these shows are pretty far-fetched. It's summer and tornadoes are possible at any time where I live, so it's useful to know as much as possible about them. However, I really don't have time to worry about the sun exploding.

People looking at the disaster and shaking their head, 'How many more children are we going to have to produce today to make up for the loss?'
