BECAUSE WE ARE ALIVE.

2007-06-10 18:03:11 · answer #1 · answered by Lost. at. Sea. 7 · 0 1

I think Malcolm D. had a pretty good answer. Like every other living creature, we die. Our organs wear out, and if you think overpopulation is bad now, imagine what it would be like if no one died--ever! Think about the health care system. It's already falling apart. How could we distribute medicine, alot resources, even find places to live? As a human race, we could not move forward because we would be spending so much time dealing with the mulitude of people currently alive. There's no doubt that dying sucks, and I'm terrified of dying, but I don't think there is any religious, or even psychological answer to this question. To me, it's purely scientific. We have to die. When people say, "to make life meaninful" or "to make life important", I always think of that Six Feet Under commercial. I don't know if you're aware of what I'm talking about, but anyway. I know it sounds simple, but like I said before, for many reasons, though we can extend life, humans are not immortal, and we will die because we have to.

Because we have to. Our bodies wear out and the process leads to evolution. Without death our species would still be swinging around in the trees. Our evolution has now stalled. There is currently no engine to drive the evolution of mankind - the law of survival of the fittest no longer applies. The next engine of human evolution may well be our own conscious decision to enhance ourselves.

Because the moment we are born our bodies start to age.
Our bodies get sick and die or our bodies get old and start to not be able to function.....it wears out
That is the body answer

The spiritual answer is that our souls are stuck in a body that wears out & our soul moves on the the spiritual realm. Our bodies briefly hold our spirits.

We die because our bodies were made that way--whether by a diving being, or not.

I don't plan on wasting any more time speculating about it than that. I'd like to spend my time living, not thinking about death.

Because we need to start over in a different body and under different circumstances. The ones you created before you died.

Because evolution has not granted immortality to primates or any other complex animal on earth. it simply isn't necessary in order to pass on genes. in fact it would probably be a hindrance to offspring.
