Go to Wal-Mart. Buy the cheapest tube socks available. Stop making your life so difficult. It is unhealthy.

Ok don't lestin to those guys. Trust the Boy Scout. Allright your going camping? Right now it's summer, so you want some socks that go just above your ankle. Make sure they have elastic at the top. If your planning on hiking get some socks that go about half way up your shin. With elastic at the top again. In the winter get the same stuff except higher up you leg and make sure their wool ones.

Cotton--to absorb the sweat from all the activities. Also make sure your feet can breathe in your shoes. Also, hikers here in michigan buy strong cat or dog flea collars to wear around their ankles to spot all the insects from biting them. I kid you not. Hartz Mountain has the best kind.

I'm a girl so I don't really knowwhether you should buy short or long or if you'll get ragged on for wearing ewhat the other boys aren't.

Hey! Ask your mom to ask the other moms--that way, she'll look like she doesn't know rather than you not knowing. Trust me--I'm a mom and that's part of our job.

Go to a trendy teen boy store. Ask what guys are wearing with shorts and sneakers, for a counselor. Watch well dressed guys in shorts at the mall, to see what sox they have.
Crew socks are always OK, but if you prefer the shorter ones, match the socks to your shoes, if possible.

Buy no-show or ankle socks. They're cool and people won't stare at you for having socks up to your knees! They go really well with any shoes, whether they're camping shoes, skate shoes, or plain old sneakers. Good luck!

The shorter the better. First of all tan lines, with long socks you'll have weird tan lines, second bugs and ticks, The shorter the socks the easier it is to check for ticks and less likely for them to get inside.
