I would really, really strongly suggest you reconsider your plan. First, you do know these two fish are going to need something around the size of a 125 gallon tank...right? Second, they won't fight exactly, but unless they are nearly the same size and grow at about the same rate one will probably eventually eat the other, or at least kill the other trying to eat it. These two fish are not a good pairing at all.
Both fish need live foods to do best, but an Oscar will do quite well on pellets and things like worms and crickets. The bichir is a piscivore and prefers live fish but can be taught to eat dead fish or fish fillets.
Also, when you buy a tank, you should not also buy fish for it the same day. Get the tank home and set up at least before you buy any fish. You will also do best to cycle the tank using a fishless cycle method before buying any fish. I'll include a link to some basic info for you at the bottom as well as a link to fishless cycling.
Please reconsider your plan. As is you will most likely end up with an empty tank and two dead fish within a week. If not then certainly a tank with only one fish before long at all.

If your tank can take him yes, if your oscars arn't obviously bigger than him at the moment yes, and yes they will take pellets and most other things that cichlids will eat. Of course thats if we're talking about a member of the bachir family and not the dragonfin tetra.
One would suggest however that the lid/top is secure as these tend to have a habit of going for a walkabout.

If the dragonfin is larger than the oscar they should be fine. It will need plenty of places to hide from the oscar. They eat both kinds of food. Talk to the associates at the pet store and they can give you information.

My friend has two oscars and they've killed every fish she's ever put in the tank with them... so you might want to ask the person who works at the pet store.

I hear from other oscar owners that oscars can easily damage the delicate dragon fish, so I would be wary of putting them together. Good luck (I personally have not tried it)

You should only put Cichlids in with Cichlids. Usually Oscars are pretty much good only with Oscars. They will eat Cichlid pellets, dog food, some raw meat. Mine used to eat out of my hand.

first buy your tank then let it go through its cycle. THEN you buy your fish dont do it all at once.
And buying feeder fish for fishes that don't require them is not recommended they can get diseases and they will live short lives. So just fish them freeze dried food or blood worms. Even carnivore pellets will do.
Your fish will eat live fish but i wouldn't if i was you :[

First the oscar will love you for the sushi delight...the oscar will eat the dragon fin....oscars are live eaters only...and will eat anything you put in the tank...so they wont fight, just one will run and the other will catch and eat....bon apetitie!
