A choice between two very different types of knowledge?

If you were offered the choice of complete fluency both written and spoken of all the langues and dialects on this planet, or the ablity to read, but not influence another persons mind. What would you choose?

I would select that, which I myself was able to comprehend.

One would never want to read minds. People who are close do think negative thoughts about each other which would probably ruin any relationship that a mind reader may have. A terrific piece of fiction on this topic is "Dying Inside," by Robert Silverberg.
